Financial Information (2007-2008 Academic Year)
Course fees for Independent Study students consist of registration, tuition, textbooks, course guides, and postage charges. Upon registration, the student must pay all registration, textbook, course guide, and postage fees along with a minimum down payment for tuition. The student may defer payment of a portion (up to $100) of tuition for each course until requesting the first examination, or course extension, in that course.

Payment for other program areas is handled through the Lee University Business Office.

**For Independent Study Students a tuition discount of $25 per course is available when enrolling for 12 or more semester hours.

Refund Policy

Students who withdraw from courses after the fifth week of enrollment will receive no adjustment of tuition. Textbook, postage, and registration fees will not be refunded. Tuition will be adjusted on the following percentages:
During the first two weeks after enrollment 80%
During the third week 60%
During the fourth week 40%
During the fifth week 20%
Refunds are based on the total tuition costs, not on the monies paid down.

Pell Grant

The Federal Pell Grant program is available for qualified CAPS students enrolled in Extension programs, Tuesday/Thursday classes, CAPSonline classes, the Degree Completion Program, and the Independent Study ZS (semester based) classes.

To determine need, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed through the Federal Processor. This will allow a student to be considered for the range of financial aid options available through the Lee University Financial Aid Office. All information must be filed with FAFSA online (www.fafsa.ed.gov) and received by Lee University before April 15 to be included in the priority group.


Scholarships

If you are seeking a degree through Lee University Center for Adult and Professional Studies, you will receive a 50% CAPS Tuition Scholarship

A wide array of scholarships is available for Lee students. Those planning to attend Lee University resident classes may contact the Financial Aid Office for details.


Veteran Benefits

Lee University is approved for veterans and dependents of disabled or deceased veterans under existing public laws. Eligible persons should contact the Veterans Administration regional office of the state in which they maintain a permanent residence. One must have authorization for VA or vocational rehabilitation training before registering. If in doubt about the procedure, check with the Lee University Admissions Office (1-800-533-9930), or email veterans@leeuniversity.edu. All questions concerning getting your VA benefits started at Lee University should be put in writing and sent to the Director of Admissions
